The persecution of the indigenous Hindu population in Bangladesh date back to the colonial-government era. Indigenous Hindus of Bangladesh have been victims of  several mass murders orchestrated and executed by Islamists since the pre-Independence period. Some examples include : a)     The Anti-Hindu pogroms of 1949 : At least 5,00,0000 Hindus were murdered and over 45,00,000 Hindu men, women and children were displaced from their motherland . b)     Around 10,000 Hindus had lost their lives and at least 3,00,000 Hindus were forcibly displaced during the pogroms of 1964. c)     Anywhere between 3,00,000 to 30,00,000 Hindus were killed (25,00,000 is the most commonly quoted estimate), 60,00,000 to 70,00,000 were forced to leave their ancestral and spiritual homeland and 2,00,000 to 4,00,000 Hindu women and girls were raped during the systematic campaign of mass-murder and genocidal sexual violence in 1971. d)     Th...
